"Dianne was truly a lucky find.  Upon the birth of our first daughter we had arrangements for daycare which quickly fell apart. So in a desperate search through the Pinellas County system we came upon Dianne (Dee-Dee).

Dianne is really great with my daughter.  My daughter just loves her.  Some days when I pick her up I have to pry her away.  Dianne is very creative with the children.  I am always getting pictures that my daughter has colored, painted, ect..  She has parties for the Holidays with the children which is great.  I feel like she cares for her like she is her own and it makes me feel great that I don't have to worry about my daughter while I am at work.  I could not be happier.  She is worth it.  I don't know who is more attached my daughter or me.

Dianne is not your usual sitter. Our child does not endlessly sit for hours in front of the television while in her care. She goes to the extra effort to have educational materials, Books and plethora of toys that our child enjoys.

In addition, Ms. Hummert shares her love of music with the children. Sometimes they all sit quietly and listen to music. On other occasions you can find them dancing to their favorite songs.

My son, Ethan, has been with Dianne Hummert, "Dee-Dee" since he was 7 months old. He has been well cared for and loved. I have been able to leave my son and work without worrying about his safety and care. In fact, I often times get adorable pictures showing me exactly what he is doing throughout the day. Ethan walks into kisses from Bailey (her dog) and a hot nutritious breakfast like homemade blueberry pancakes and bananas. In fact he experiences many homemade meals that most kids never get when they are not at home. We are so thankful that he is not fed boxed, prepackaged foods every day.

He rarely ever cries when we drop off in the morning and is usually anxious to see his friends and Dee-Dee. He is engaged in active play most of the day through art, dress up, and outdoor activities. He draws, colors, and even paints me beautiful pieces of art. She also reads to the kids and taught my son how to first use a computer to work on his ABCs. She has been instrumental in helping us work with a speech therapist since my son has been speech delayed. In addition to his therapy, Dianne has taken an active interest to learn more about assisting with speech development in her toddlers. She really works with him on those difficult "s" sounds.

She also takes the kids outside to play almost every day including playtime in the sprinklers when it is hot outside. The kids also dance and sometimes do fun exercises/ stretching. She has worked with my son on potty training (still in progress), and has given us lots of tips to assist in our efforts at home. Her house has been a wonderful home away from home. Instead of being just a day care provider, she has turned into an extension of our family. I would never hesitate to recommend her to any new mother/ father or to have my future son or daughter be cared for by her. Dianne makes my jobs as a mom easier! We have only decided to move on to a day care facility since his father and I both work in downtown Tampa making it impossible to arrive on time for pick up. I am sure your experience will be just as wonderful as ours has!

Every first time parent is nervous leaving their child at daycare for the first time. Within the first 30 minutes of dropping my daughter off the first day, I got a picture message on my phone from Dianne. The picture messages kept coming all day. I saw my daughter happy and adjusting and I think Dianne knew that I needed to see that. Whatever guilt or concern I may have had washed away quickly, and I have never once second guessed the decision to leave my daughter with Dianne since.

 

One of the first things my husband and I noticed when we interviewed with Dianne was how clean her house is. This may seem trivial, but when there are toddlers underfoot, that’s pretty impressive. All of the toys are in good shape. Compare that to other daycares – whether in-home or a big center – and you’ll see that’s not very common. Dianne is constantly reinvesting in the toys and books and other things for the children and she takes their personalities and needs into consideration when she does. She’s always encouraging them to grow their imaginations. She runs her business the way she does because she truly loves what she does and loves the kids that she’s caring for.

 

From the start, Dianne has shown genuine care and affection for the children and has made us, the parents, feel like family. She has always backed us up and let us know when and how we needed to back her up. She has always encouraged independence and self-empowerment in my daughter. I love to hear Dianne say "Aren’t you proud of you!" and see my little girl’s confidence grow.

 

I can tell you all the selling points like meals and diapers are included and it’s so easy; that Dianne is accommodating and flexible and her prices are really reasonable. These are all nice things. But the most important thing I can tell you is this: When we have another baby (hopefully soon), we will come back to Dianne again. And the next time I won’t be nervous.

Re: Letter of recommendation, Clearwater home daycare – Dianne Day

To whom it may concern:

For the last 3 years Dianne has been our home daycare provider for our son Connor,

whom she has cared for since he was 8 weeks old. Unlike most parents seeking

childcare for their children, we have had the distinct advantage and pleasure of

working with her before.

In 1997 we became parents for the first time and were new to the area. After

tirelessly interviewing large daycare centers and a multitude of private in-home

daycare providers, it was evident that Dianne stood head and shoulders above

the rest. Dianne’s qualifications and standards, bar none, were higher than

the others, and as a result, she became our daycare provider for our daughter

whom was only 6 weeks old at the time. Dianne was a critical component in our

child’s development as she provided a curriculum that allowed our child to grow

emotionally, academically, and made the transition to Pre School easy and seamless.

3 years after we departed from Dianne we became parents for the second time.

Naturally, the choice was simple and clear. There was no need to interview anyone

else, our only concern at that time is whether or not she had an opening. Much to

our good fortune, she had room for 1 more, and as such, she was once again our

home daycare provider. She attended to our 2

nd child with the same enthusiasm

as she did with the first, and like before, she brought our son up in a culture that

fosters kindness, caring, sharing and learning. Our son went on to Preschool where

he continued to build on the foundation that Dianne laid.

6 years after our son left Dianne’s daycare we found ourselves becoming parents

for the 3rd time. Having been out of contact with her for quite some time, there was

grave concern that she may no longer be providing home daycare. Much to our

delight we contacted Dianne and once again to our good fortune, she was in position

to take Connor. Despite the lapse of time, the reunion was quite comfortable and

familiar. It was like we just saw her the week before. We dropped Connor off on his

first day with Dianne, no reservations, no concerns or worries.

We’ve known Dianne and her family for 16 years now. We have entrusted her with

our most prized possessions, of which she played a critical role in their development

in who they have become today and who they will be tomorrow. Dianne has a

special place in our heart for all that she has contributed, and I know that each of

our children have fond memories of her and the other children that they started

their first few years of their lives with.

Despite the changing times, Dianne has strived to keep her business current and

provide the children the curriculum and the development they need to have to be

successful socially and academically in their future endeavors. Having selected

Dianne 3 times as our home daycare provider should speak volumes about how we

feel about her, her business, and the value she has brings as a daycare provider.

Dianne is an excellent daycare provider in a sea of unlicensed, incompetent care providers which the State cannot adequately supervise or prosecute.
